AI Summaries & Smart Tagging
How Bucket's automatic AI pipeline reads bookmarks, documents, and notes to generate summaries and searchable tags.
As your library grows to hundreds or thousands of items, manual folder filing becomes tedious. Bucket uses intelligent AI processing to automatically tag and summarize every piece of content you capture.
How it works
When you save an item to Bucket:
- Content Extraction: Bucket extracts the article text, document content, or PDF pages.
- AI Summarization: A fast background model extracts the key points into a readable 2-3 sentence executive summary.
- Smart Tagging: Topic tags (such as
design,machine-learning,productivity) are inferred and attached automatically.
1. Customizing AI Preferences
You can control how AI operates on your account:
- Go to Settings → AI & Processing.
- Toggle Auto-Summarize on or off.
- Toggle Auto-Tagging on or off.
When enabled, newly created items are processed asynchronously without slowing down your saves.
2. Searching with AI Tags
All AI tags are first-class search filters. In the search bar:
- Type
#tag-nameto view all items matching a tag across your spaces. - Combine tags with full-text search to find exact passages in articles or PDFs.
3. Reader Mode
Every bookmark and document offers a distraction-free Reader Mode:
- Tap Reader Mode on any saved item.
- Cleans away navigation bars, ads, and cookies.
- Highlights your AI summary and key takeaways right at the top.
